Understand the discipline in the context of a real project

The course is for engineers from oil and gas, power and industry who want to understand how a data center works: from site selection and Tier classification to power entry, UPS, cooling and AI racks.

Separate lessons cover liquid cooling, structured cabling, fire and physical security, monitoring, commissioning and operations, and the last one covers moving into data center roles from oil and gas.

What you will learn

Outcomes are framed as work tasks: what you will be able to explain, do and check after the course.

01

Describe data center types, project parties and site selection criteria

02

Calculate the availability of a scheme and determine its level under Uptime Tier, TIA-942-C Rated and EN 50600

03

Read a data center single-line diagram from entry to rack, select UPS, batteries and diesel generators, and find single points of failure

04

Choose a cooling scheme: air, central chilled water or liquid

05

Determine the power, cooling, weight and network requirements of an NVIDIA AI rack

06

Write a MOP, describe L1–L5 commissioning and build a personal career-transition map into a data center role

From the basics to real project documents

Modules run in sequence. Each block builds on the documents and decisions covered before it.
